Ir-Ta Oxides Coated Titanium Plate for Hard Chrome Plating
Feature:
  • Highly stable even under acid environment
  • Great current efficiency
  • Low overpotential for oxygen evolution
  • Long service life expectancy

Electroplating is a popular metal finishing and improving process used to prevent corrosion of metal or for decorative purposes. This process results in a thin layer of metal being deposited onto the surface of a workpiece by means of a direct electric current.

In electroplating practice, the metal atoms are dissolved from the anode into the electrolyte solution as positive ions and the object to be plated is cathodically polarised. Regarded as an insoluble anode for long-term use, our titanium anode basket coated with iridium tantalum oxides is widely used in chrome plating. When the anode coating has reached the end of its lifetime, the titanium anode can be re-coated after cleaning and, if necessary, repairs.
